Boys and Trucks

There is just something about boys and trucks that go together. Every summer (I know it’s December right now, but I’m just a little behind) one of the towns close by puts together a day called “Touch a Truck”. They literally arranged to have a number of different trucks show up park at the recreation center and kids then get to walk around and climb in and out of the trucks. It is a little boys’ heaven.

Both my boys tend to be a little shy and slow to warm up, and so it usually takes a few trucks before they jump fully in, but once they do they love it. This year they had a mni train for the kids to ride on as well which both boys thought was so much fun.

I think it is fun to watch the truck drivers too, they all have big grins on their faces as they lift kids up and down in and out of their trucks. I think many of them are still little boys in man sized bodies.

There was a bulldozer that they let the kids paint the blade. Leighton thought that was pretty cool.

Caedmon was a big fan of the busses. Not sure what his love for them was but we climbed in and out of a number of busses and sat in a number of different seats.

It does get a bit crazy and chaotic with so many kids and people everywhere but to see their smiles and hear their laughter it is so worth it.
