Because of the flooding in Yellowstone we were limited to only 1 day exploring instead of how we had initially planned, so we went with plan B and spent the day fishing in Idaho at Henry’s Lake. It was beautiful. I can’t say we were real successful at catching many fish. I think Clint and I spent the majority of the time untangling Coppelia’s line. When we weren’t untangling her line we were untangling one of the other kids’ lines, but about 90% of the time was spent on her line. All she had to do was breath it seemed and her line would end up in a million knots. Clint did manage to get a few casts in, but only a few. And we did catch 3 fish…..kind of, Paxton, Edric, and Caedmon each managed to snag a minnow with the hook on their lines. And they were so proud. I suggested that we use those minnows as bait but that made a certain 10 year old cry so we did not do that. After a number of hours of line de-tangling and attempted fishing we called it and headed to West Yellowstone for some ice cream which scored points all around. We had a very long drive the next day back home and went through Grand Tetons and stopped and enjoyed it for just a bit. It is gorgeous and definitely some place that we will need to visit again in the future. All in all between Glacier and Yellowstone the kids hiked over 50 miles and we had a blast. It was a really good trip and we have all sorts of memories from it.
