Coppelia has been asking for awhile to learn how to ride horses. It is the only thing that she wants to do. I had looked around in the fall and hadn’t had a whole lot of luck or response from people, so with her persistent asking I tried again a few weeks ago and heard back. As it turns out the girl who emailed me back I use to babysit when she was a baby, which was crazy how things come around. So she has started taking lessons on Friday afternoons and so far every Friday Coppelia is up at 6:15AM in her jeans with her coat asking if she should put her helmet and boots in the car. I have to remind her that lessons don’t start till 2 and we should start with eating breakfast and getting school work done. She has loved her lessons so far, she is learning how to prep and care for the horse and practicing all sorts of things when she rides like balance and timing and coordination. I have drawn a terrible version of a horse on one of our white boards for her to learn the different parts of a horse as well as the names of the equipment that she uses. Miss Audrey is super sweet and patient with her and horse Cameo is very calm and gentle. It’s going to be fun watching her grow and learn so much.
