Making Christmas…

I know we are still a few days before Thanksgiving and I’m typically not one to do Christmas things before Thanksgiving because I really enjoy just taking a month to reflect and be thankful. That being said I was looking ahead to December and given my work schedule, eye surgery, Nutcracker, and the day in day out of a family of 7, I realized we better start a few things a few days early. And so this past Saturday afternoon we did just that. I really wanted the kids to learn and live out the fact that Christmas is far more about giving then about getting and often the best gifts are hand made and loved. So I set up a bunch of crafting stations around our dining room table and the kids went to work making all sorts of lovely ornaments for gifts for family. The crafts were all very simple but did take some help from Clint and I with the little ones. It was a good time and then we finished up the evening after dinner by snuggling on the couch and watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. The kids all decorated gift bags and once we made sure all the paint was dry and such they put them in their gift bags and we are ready for at least that part of Christmas.
