Caedmon turned 12 a couple of weeks ago and we had a fun time celebrating him. He is the first in a 5 month stretch of a birthday a month in our family. As has become tradition we spent an evening at the Colorado Ballet performance, this year it was Coppelia. We really enjoyed watching it and having a fun evening together. On his actual birthday the weather was gorgeous and we spent a lot of time outside. Caedmon got some Hardy Boys books and a game from my parents, a number of books from his siblings and some legos from Clint’s parents. He also got a Gabb Watch from Clint and I. It allows him to make calls and text but has no other internet or the ability to get online or anything. Given his age it is exactly what he needs right now and he was very excited about it. As is the tradition in our family we take each kid when they turn 12 on a trip, and Caedmon’s trip is coming up in June. He has decided he wants to go to Seattle and see Pacific Northwest Ballet perform and we will get to see their performance of Coppelia. So we are looking forward to that. Crazy to realize he is 12, but he is growing and having fun and brings so much life to each day. I’ve heard it rumored that the older high school boys are jealous of him when there is a all youth event because he always manages to have a gaggle of girls trailing after him.
