Gymnastics meets 1&2 2024

Paxton and Leighton have two meets under their belts so far this season. The first meet at the beginning of January was their home meet. Leighton’s level was in the first session and he did well. He has grown and has a number of new skills, he didn’t make his front giants but did really nice back giants. Leighton has also been helping coach the younger boys one night a week, so it was fun to watch him coach and watch over them as they competed in the second session with Paxton. Both boys did well for their opening meet. Their second meet was only 5 days later because of scheduling stuff. Paxton had his worse meet ever, but I think he was tired and not real focused, and he just moved up to a new level which is always hard. His team ended up placing second though and he was super excited and carried the award around the rest of the night all through Leighton’s session. Leighton on the other hand had his best meet ever and improved his all around score by over 3 points which is impressive. He was even willing to smile for me at the end of the meet and not just give me the typical teenage-eye roll so I know he was proud of his work as well. We have a couple of weeks until their next meet and I think it’s going to be a really good session for both boys.
