We had a great time the weekend of July 4th. On Saturday we spent the afternoon playing at my parents house and having a great dinner and playing cards. When it got dark we did some smoke bombs and sparklers which the kids had fun with. We then drove down the road 2 minutes where we could watch the Berthoud fireworks show. The next morning on the 4th we woke up and the kids put the finishing touches on their bikes for our neighborhood bike parade and then we headed up the street to do that with the rest of the kids in the bike parade. Then we had our annual neighborhood baseball game, one street vs the other. It was fun to just play and enjoy the time with out neighbors. After the game we walked/biked home and then had lunch and I made everyone take a nap for about an hour. Then we loaded up and headed to our friend Jeff and Sarah’s house and spent the evening there. Sarah and our friend Nancy had put together a massive scavenger hunt for the kids and they divided into 3 teams to complete which was fun to watch. The kids played super hard and ran all over. I ended up leaving around 7:30 with Paxton and Coppelia because they are still little. They weren’t real happy about leaving and Paxton cried the whole way home, but upon getting home and reading a book with me he was sound asleep in bed within a few minutes. And honestly so was I. Clint stayed with the older 3 for more fireworks and from what I hear it was pretty awesome, but I was quite happy sound asleep. It was a great weekend and I’m thankful for the freedoms that we have and the friends and family we can celebrate that with.
