After having an amazing morning hiking at Willis Creek Slot Canyon on our way back to the cabin we stopped on the edge of Bryce Canyon and hiked the Mossy Cave Trail. It is within the National Park but not through the main entrance. We had already hiked 5 miles at Willis Creek so this was a nice hike a little over 2 miles which everyone enjoyed. It was a warm afternoon, high 60s/low 70s. The hike goes up to a cave that still had snow and ice in it but is a spring that feeds mosses and ferns year round. Caedmon really enjoyed that part. Then we followed the trail back down to the Tropic Ditch which was built years ago as a water passage to get water to the little town of Tropic and followed it along to a waterfall. We climbed up to the top of the water fall and crossed the river up there and saw some hoodoos. We then meandered back down the trail and walked along another trail along the water path up to the underside of the waterfall. It was a great little trail to explore and have fun with.
