For The Love….

I have had the unique opportunity (along with 495 other women and 4 guys) to get to read and study and explore Jen Hatmaker’s new book, For The Love, as part of the official launch team. I filled out the application on a whim while making lunch one day for the boys and never thought I’d get chosen. But I did and I’ve been able to read and re-read the book a number of times before it is actually published and available to the waiting public August 18th.

And let me just say, everyone is in for a treat. I have giggled and laughed so many times through it, but it has also sobered me and given me much to chew on. And it deals with something that we all deal with on a day to day basis-other people. It actually starts with accepting ourselves and giving ourselves the grace we deserve and then learning how to extend that grace out to those that we deal with every day, whether they are family, friend, foe or something else.

From there it goes on to remind us how we all need each other. Yes we are all different and unique and deal with life differently but we need community and need to rely on each other to become better people and to grow as individuals. There are some awesome recipes included, some great laugh out loud “thank you notes”, and the book concludes with a chapter on chickens. What can be better than that?

I think no matter where you are in life this book has something for you. It is on ½ off sale this week at Barnes and Noble, (half price book) which isn’t bad either. It is set to publish on August 18th, which is just a couple weeks away so pre-order now if you can.

Being on the launch team has been a great experience, I’ve “met” a number of people online through it and while I won’t be able to make the Launch Party at Jen’s house in the beginning of September (trying to squeeze that in between 2 trips to Korea wasn’t going to happen-ie not on my beam-read the first chapter, that’ll make sense), it has been a privilege and an experience I’m super grateful for.
