Yurt Camping 2020…

A a couple of months ago one of the pharmacists that I work with told me that she had reservations for a yurt up in State Forrest State Park but wasn’t going to be able to go and wondered if we wanted to go? We jumped at the idea and got to spend the first weekend of October up in the mountains. We had to take the long way to get up there because of all the fires but we made it. We were staying at the Ruby Jewel Yurt which was up a tough 4×4 road but we made it up that road even though it made all of us a bit nervous. We quickly unpacked and then headed back down to Michigan Reservoir for some fishing. The day was cool but that didn’t really slow anyone down from getting their lines in the water. Coppelia decided she wanted to just attach the red plastic fish to the end of her pole and fish with that which made her happy. We didn’t have a ton of luck that first afternoon but Clint did catch one, and I caught one on one of the kids poles when they asked me to toss it out for them but the fish jumped off right before I brought it up out of the water. It got pretty cool in the late afternoon and so we decided to head back to our yurt but the kids all wanted to run up and down a huge hill of rocks that they do every time that we go camping there. I made an egg noodle dish for dinner which everyone devoured and then we settled in for a game of Ticket to Ride. After the game then we all snuggled into our sleeping bags and Clint read some from the Titanic book that we have been reading and everyone crashed for the night.
