Our bees are doing well. We are all learning and ton and having lots of fun with it. We do frequent walks out to the hive just to watch them flying in and out bringing pollen and nectar back to the hive. On Memorial Day my dad helped Leighton, Caedmon and I check the bees and he helped the boys take off the entrance reducer and put in a mouse guard over the front. It’s really early to worry about autumn mice staking out my hive for their winter home but the mouse guard also reduces the entrance some and it was a good transition piece that I will probably just leave on full time. On that day the bees seemed to really love Caedmon’s bee hat which he thought was great. About a week later Edric and Clint checked the bees with me. We were able to watch a couple baby bees hatch and filmed the queen and all her exploring over the comb and laying eggs. I think we are all enjoying this more than we even thought we would.
