So we aren’t huge football fans in our house. Basically we record the Bronco’s game and then on Sunday evenings after dinner and bath we watch 30-45 minutes of it and call it good. The kids would tell you that they are huge fans but I’m not sure they could name many of the players at all. But it’s been good to watch and teach them the game and what all the things on the screen mean and so on. Since the Bronco’s had no chance of making the playoffs we decided to do a family contest for the playoffs. The winner will get to decide what flavor of ice cream we eat during the Super Bowl. The first round people got 1 point for each correct guess, second round, 2 points, 3rd round 3 and the Super Bowl winner correct guess gets 4 points. My parents got in on the brackets as well. Sunday evening with it being the AFC and the NFC championship games we decided to have a “tail gate” party, which meant that we grilled some bratwursts and ate on some blankets on the living room floor. We watched bits of both games. We watched enough to know the outcomes which was enough for me to actually finish the brackets. In the end, no matter who wins the Super Bowl Paxton will win our bracket play off. Edric will come in second if the Chiefs win and Coppelia and Edric will tie for second if the 49ers win. So their you go, our 3 youngest clearly have the pulse on football….or just happen to guess better than the rest of us.
