Clint’s 1/2 Marathon and More Glacier…

The Sunday of our trip started very similarly to the Saturday with us getting the kids up before the sun to load up the van only this time we were dropping Clint off at 4:15AM for the shuttles for his half marathon in Missoula. The kids and I were back at our Airbnb and in bed before 5AM. We actually got the idea for the trip from our friend Lindsay who lives in Maine and who we met at the Trailfest last year while helping with a medical emergency during the first race in Bryce. The kids and I woke up a while later and loaded up the Airbnb and then headed back into Missoula to meet Clint. He had just finished as we were parking and so we walked up the river to the finish area. Meanwhile I was getting updates from Lindsay as she made her way through her first marathon. We found a park to play at and let Clint get a little recovery while we waiting for her to finish. We got to cheer her over the final bridge and watch her cross the line and then meet up with her and her family. Afterwards we loaded up in the car and headed up to the west side of Glacier National Park (we’d been on the east side prior). We did a little hike to the shore of Lake McDonald and enjoyed sticking our feet in the cool clear water and throwing lots of rocks in the lake. The day was warm but we had a great time.
