Well Easter 2022 didn’t turn out exactly as we had planned or hoped. And I figure it’s because I had everyone’s shirts all ironed and ready and we were well prepared. However we got hit hard with a stomach virus and everyone except for me threw up that day and many of them threw up many times. It was a rough go at our house. Everyone pretty much just camped out on the couch wrapped up in blankets. It was a nasty bug and took a good 5-6 days to go through the house. I’m the only one who made it through without getting sick. So needless to say there was no egg hunting, cooking, or going to church for us that day. Everyone was upright a few days later so we finally hid Easter eggs. Plan was to do it outside but we’ve had some really nasty wind the last week in Colorado so even that plan got changed and everyone ended up inside finding eggs. And they all had fun with that. Then we baked our dessert together and enjoyed the pan of enchiladas that my mom had made for us for Easter. Despite not being on the actual day, we still had fun celebrating and some really good discussions on the meaning of Easter and our lives. Things don’t always go as planned, but despite that we still had our family to be thankful for and still made the best of it.
