On Sunday I got to give another vaccine, this one was to Clint! Leighton had gymnastics but the other 4 kids went with us and they all were helpers and cheered Clint on. While we were driving there Edric told Clint “Daddy, I will hold your hand so that you won’t cry”. In the end Edric actually held the band aide because in true Edric form he couldn’t stand or stay still without something to do and that was the easiest and safest thing for him. Coppelia held Clint’s left arm and initially Paxton wanted to sit on Clint’s lab and hold his right hand but then he was afraid I might miss and accidently give him a shot and so instead he decided to be as far away from the shot arm but still hold the hand. Caedmon took the photos. It went really well and while Clint was waiting out his standard 15 minute post vaccine wait with his timer in the waiting room I took the kids outside to the far parking lot and we raced each other running up and down and had a good time. We are one step closer…Clint will get his second shot in less than 3 weeks and we’ll have a little more protection and immunity from this crazy time. It is another step in the right direction and towards the end of this whole thing.
