Yesterday we got to all go cross country skiing for the day. We left early in the morning before the sun was up and Paxton was pretty sure that it was the middle of the night. Leighton has been cross country skiing in the past but it has been 5 or 6 years and none of the other kids have ever been. They were all super excited. Everyone had plenty of layers on and the first thing we did when the kids all got their skies on was practice getting up from falling down. And then we were off. They all did great, they actually had really good form and did a good job. The day was fairly warm and we all ended up shedding layers after our first lap. Any little hill with a slight decline brought huge smiles to their faces which was fun. Clint and Coppelia brought up the rear often, but she kept her little legs going, she just had a lot to talk about while she went. We grabbed a quick lunch in the car and then headed back out. No one lasted very long after lunch, everyone was pretty tired, but we still had a great time. Everyone says they want to go again. It was just a beautiful day to be out in God’s creation enjoying each other’s company and having fun as a family.
