Meet number 5 is in the books as of this past weekend, Leighton only has State and Regional meet left of this season. This meet was down in Centennial Colorado which is really close to where my brother Chris lives, so he and his partner met us and cheered Leighton on with Clint and I. It was a super fun meet, the theme was “Fly High” so to introduce the boys they ran in on a lightened runway and did flips onto the mat. Leighton did really well, he has improved each meet, still has many things to work on but it has been a season of growth and development. His best two events are still pommel horse and vault which he took 2nd and 4th on. This meet however instead of handing out medals they gave the kids model airplanes which to young pre-teen boys that far beats medals anyway. After the meet we went with Chris and Adam for ice cream which topped off a great day.
