On Sunday we decided to hike Horsetooth Rock. It is close to our church and it was going to be part of our family celebration for completing and paying off my med school loan. We packed our lunches to eat in the car on the way to the trail head and a change of clothes for everyone after church. The day was beautiful and it was a tough hike. It is about 2.5 miles one way with about 1450 feet of elevation gain. It is a tough hike but everyone stuck with it really well. We all started with poor attitudes but partway through we had a good break and talk and hugs and then everyone seemed better. The kids are good little rock climbers and there was some definite scrambling near the top going up and down. We celebrated the hike with ice cream and pizza back at home and everyone slept REALLY REALLY well Sunday night.
